What to Expect During Roofing Construction

  • There will be a truck unloading material to your home soon. The material will arrive before construction (weather permitting).
  • Be prepared for the noise associated with construction. There will be constant hammering for the duration of the project. You should plan some time away from the house while the job is in progress.
  • Please keep children and pets away from the work area. PLEASE KEEP PETS INSIDE.
  • Remove all items from around your house where debris or bundles of shingles might fall, such as patio and pool furniture, potted plants, gardening equipment, and barbecue grills.
  • Remove all loose items from shelving and walls, such as pictures, mirrors, plates, etc.
  • Hammering may create a vibration that could shake items from the shelves and walls.
  • Occasionally, power tools are needed to cut decking, install power vents, etc. If an outside power outlet is unavailable, a power source supplied on the day of installation would be appreciated.
  • Nails that fall from the roof during the job will be picked up with a magnetic roller. We will make every effort to pick up all nails. Please be advised that a few hidden nails in the grass and shrubbery may remain.
  • We take every precaution to protect your flowers, plants, trees, and shrubs. Please understand that at times, due to the layout of the landscape or if the roof is very steep, falling debris may knock over some leaves or blooms.
  • Work on your home will be delayed for each day it rains. Riverland Exteriors Corporation’s crews are instructed not to tear more than they can replace in one day so that your home is not exposed to inclement weather.
  • Riverland Exteriors Corporation thanks you for your business. We look forward to restoring your home to a condition better than its original pre-loss condition.

Roofing Process - Watch Us Build

Dear homeowner,

My name is Tom Johnson, and today, we will be replacing your neighbor’s roof. I am the owner of Riverland Exteriors Corporation. Although the construction process will probably not disrupt your routine, I did want to take this opportunity to invite you over to watch some of our work. Our company will make every effort to make this project run smoothly with minor inconvenience to everyone involved. I want to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. If there is any way we can be of service, please call me.

When your area was hit with a severe storm, the damage devastated many homes. The high wind and hail caused extensive damage to many roofs.

I understand that you may be unaware of damage to your property or believe that there is no damage. I am a trained inspector who can identify issues that may not be visible to an untrained eye. If the hail or wind damage is not corrected, the integrity of your roof will deteriorate over time, shortening its life span.

I educate homeowners on the process and help them file their claims. I will also accompany the insurance adjuster during the inspection of their property. Riverland Exteriors Corporation works directly off insurance proceeds, with no money upfront, and final payment is not required until the job is done!

My relationship with the homeowner is crucial to my success. I will be with you from start to finish. Please contact me to schedule a free, no-obligation professional inspection of your home or commercial building.

Sincerely,

Tom Johnson, Owner

While this hail damage may seem obvious here, up on your roof is a different matter!

With this type of wind damage, nails can be pulled up unseen, debris can get underneath, preventing the shingle from ever sealing again, and water will get in.
